Completeness matters
A food processor without the right blade, a mixer without attachments, or a blender without a lid can be less useful than it looks. Compare the listing to the original parts list before paying.
Replacement accessories are sometimes easy to find, but the cost should come off the price.
Smell and motor checks
Ask whether the motor runs smoothly and whether the appliance has lingering odors. Burnt smells, rattles, and overheating are warning signs.
For air fryers and pressure cookers, inspect baskets, seals, nonstick surfaces, and safety mechanisms carefully.
Cleanability
Appliances with removable, dishwasher-safe parts are easier used buys. If grime is trapped in vents, seams, or buttons, decide whether the savings are worth the cleaning time.
