Confirm it is ready for a new owner

The most important check is whether the watch is removed from the previous owner's Apple ID. A low price does not help if Activation Lock keeps the watch from pairing with your phone.

Ask for a photo or short video showing the watch erased, ready to pair, and not tied to an account. If the seller says you can remove the lock later, walk away.

Battery and charging reality

Battery age changes the deal. Ask how long it lasts in normal use and whether it charges steadily without overheating or restarting.

A missing charger should lower the price. Some older or third-party chargers work poorly, so include a reliable charger in your total cost before comparing listings.

Screen, buttons, and sensors

Check the glass for deep scratches, cracks along the curved edge, dead areas in touch input, and heavy casing dents. Cosmetic band wear matters less than damaged glass or a sticky Digital Crown.

If the listing mentions fitness tracking, ask whether heart-rate sensing, speaker, microphone, haptics, and side button work normally. Cellular models should also have the carrier status explained clearly.
